not like the others tom
time ticks by six moons
you’ll never find me HiddenClan
not quite ready apprentice
tick, tock, watch me now

Slender legs and small paws carry this apprentice swiftly over rough terrain. His paws, to start with, are delicate, each toe seperated by a line of deep ginger. His paws may look serene, but hidden within each is a set of sharp claws. These weapons can be lethal if you are an enemy of Hickorypaw and his clan. Hickorypaw's paws lead up into four long, thin legs. These are athletic, almost feminine. But they are a good feature for a cat - they provide agility and easy acess through small gaps and spaces. Hickorypaw's shoulders are thin and fairly flat. They are not defined by much muscles; only a thin layer of strength covers them. They are not much use for powerful buffets or pinning bigger opponents. Hickorypaw's body is far more adapted to quick, sharp jabs to the stomach and face. His shoulders slide into his back and spine, which in turn leads on into his hind legs ans tail. Hickorypaw's tail is a fraction longer than most. It is softly furred and moves with an almost liquid grace. Hickorypaw's muzzle is, like his tail, slightly longer than most. This slight elongation gives Hickorypaw's face a thoughtful intelligence. His nose is a dark, warm sandy colour. His eyes, two narrow shapes, rest above his muzzle like two sparkling gems. They are a pale kiwi-green colour, which seems to darken and lighten depending on his emotion.
Hickorypaw's fur is too short to be dubbed long, but not quite short enough to be named short. He is hanging on a balance, just between the two. His fur is very soft and smooth, and often very well groomed. It is clean and unmarked, adding to his youthful appearance. Hickorypaw's fur lengthens on his chest and stomach, giving the illusion of a longhaired cat, but is short and velvety enough on his face, legs, paws and tail to deny this view. Tufts of wispy hair spring from within his large, curved ears, but the backs are coated in smooth fur. The colour of Hickorypaw's fur is a light, creamy ginger. But this colour is not the only one dancing on this apprentice's lean body. Darker dapples darken this fur, some sandy gold, others the deep red of fire.
you are never too young for tales
Hickorypaw is blessed with a wisdom beyond his years. He is quietly intelligent, not showing off this quality, but using it to help and aid others. He is not arrogant in the slightest; by many, he is thought far too modest. Hickorypaw could not be called proud or obnoxious. This apprentice is often too humble for his own good, putting himself down because he truly does not realise the extent of his talents, not for attention or popularity. Hickorypaw has an air of calmity about him that strikes some cats dumb with envy. Insults seem to bounce off him; he never seems to feel words. But insult a friend, and he will not be so understanding. Hickorypaw is not one for violence within the clan, but his words can easily put a cat in their place. This apprentice very sensible and responsible, getting on with his training, even the bits that he dislikes. Hickorypaw knows that he is not good at everything - he is the first to admit this. Despite his excellation in swiftness and hunting, he is less skilled in fighting. Hickorypaw is not afraid to fight and give his life for HiddenClan, but prefers a peaceful way of life. Some would call Hickorypaw a coward, but this is only a word, and not true in the slightesr.
this story, as yet, has no ending
Eveline, a beautiful kittypet, had it all. She lived in a large twoleg den, with her two twoleg masters and their three kits. All five humans loved her, and treated her like a princess. Eveline had a spacious garden to run in, and plenty of toys to play with. But there was one thing she longed for that her twolegs would not give her. Company. For though her twolegs were kind and took care of her, theu could not speak with her. In summer, a strange cat entered Eveline's garden. His pelt was torn and his tabby shoulders bleeding. His body was ridged with muscle, and his eyes wild. But somehow, Eveline was not frightened of him. He introduced himself as Pikafire, a wildcat. Eveline spoke with him, and the tom rested in her garden until his injuries had healed. By then, Eveline had fallen in love with him. She thought that they could not be together; Pikafire had told her about his life in 'HiddenClan'. But after admitting her feelings, the tom reassured her that he loved her and his clan would not stand in the way of this. The two became mates, and Pikafire often visited his kittypet mate.
A few moons later, Eveline fell pregnant. Her twolegs were determined to get rid of the kittens after their birth - they did not like the idea that their pet had mated with a wildcat. But Eveline did not want her kittens to be taken away; she knew of only one solution. After Eveline gave birth to three kittens, two toms and a she-cat, she hid them in her garden. As planned, in the dead of night, Pikafire arrived to take his kits back to HiddenClan. But on his trek back through the forest, tradegy struck. The scent of the newborn kits had attracted a badger, which promptly attacked. Pikafire hid his kits, but after he was slaughtered by the badger, the creature found two and took their lives. The last, a tom, survived, and the next sun was discovered by a HiddenClan patrol. He was taken back to the camp and given to a queen named Fawncloud to nurse.
The kit, who was named Hickorykit by Fawncloud, grew up thinking he had been born as a HiddenClanner. No cat discouraged this belief, and Fawncloud told the kitten that she was blood mother. Her own sons had died of Greencough earlier in the year. Hickorykit grew up, gaining his mother's intelligence and his father's strength. He was given his apprentice name, Hickorypaw, and given to a young warrior, Lilywhisker, to train. But after Lilywhisker fell pregnant, Hickorypaw was felt with no mentor. Little does he know that his mother, Eveline, still waits in her nest, hoping that one day, her kits will visit her.
